like the subject says, the bottom is nice and juicy, the top part is dry and appears to be a whiter color, like it's not ripe yet? how to pick a nice pineapple?
Also, I watched several youtube videos on how to cut a pineapple, but when I cut one, I have to remove a lot of stuff to get rid of all those "scales" (if you can call them that). Seems like ~1/3 or the edible mass is lost this way.
