This happens once a year when I need to modify an existing .pdf. I know I can do it with Acrobat pro 9, because I did it last year!

How do I modify text?

I'm doing some awards and I just need to change the names and dates. I spent all day yesterday trying to remember how, and for the life of me, I can't figure it out - googled all over and no cigar.

I'd appreciate it if someone can help!

Tools menu > Advanced Editing > Touch-up Text tool

Hopefully all of the fonts are embedded!

Do you have the original file still, before it was converted to a PDF. I know I probably don't need to say it, but this would be much easier than messing with the text that's already finalized in the PDF file...

If not, macbeergeek2's instructions will work.

I found the touchup tool yesterday - not working for me.

Further info - the original was done in MS Publisher - which is why it is now a .pdf - Macs just don't have the ability to work with those.

Are you able select the text with the Touchup Tool?
Are you sure that the PDF isn't protected from editing?
Are you sure that the text is actually text, and not a graphic?

You could try a site like http://www.zamzar.com/ which will convert the file to a .doc which then you can save and edit each year. I've used the site in a pinch and it works well and quickly.

Do you have Illustrator?
If not, you should get it.
PDF is its native format.
