Tell that to the folks in the recent burn areas. It's always a mixed blessing out here.

We also have the wind here in Sacramento which is not so welcome.
This is the remains of super typhoon Melor.

It's been raining so much the farmers can't get their crops harvested here. They'll be harvesting corn with snow on the ground.

It was dry all summer in Texas, My grass turned into dirt, now it's mud.

And up here in the "rainy Pacific Northwest", the shrubs in my yard are desperately wishing and hoping for some rain; rhododendrons look so sad when their leaves are limp. People to the north of me got some rain a week or so ago, but I had to set the sprinkler because none fell here, and now everything is dry again. It's nice and gray outside right now, but those clouds don't seem to be giving up any moisture. My yard man is going to chastise me for not watering, but that just seems so wrong in the middle of October, especially when you live in a place with a reputation for wetness. I'm feeling cheated.

RgrF wrote: Funny you should mention that. I was wondering last night, after seeing the LA area forecast, just how you and kap were fairing. We here in Dana Point had a little rain last night as I can see by the remnants left on our patio table. RgrF, how does it look for you, so far this year? |
