Tax in CA and maybe a few other states. I am storing less and less on my laptops these days, otherwise I would pick one up. Very good price on a solid drive.

Geez. I paid $109 just a couple weeks ago for one to put in my MBP and I thought that was a good deal.

Good drive? How's the noise level? Heat?
At the moment, the drive would be going in a USB case. Down the road, it will be installed into a MacBook or Mac mini. Hence the questions about noise and heat. Thanks.

more elbow room for the MBP... now gotta score a deal on an enclosure for the OEM 200GB 7200RPM'er... I forget the exact number, but IIRC the "upgrade" price for the 200GB 7200RPM drive was at least $100, or IOW, more than the cost of this deal for for 2.5X the capacity... thanks jd!

The Seagate one performs a lot better. It's well worth the extra $10.

I thought the 5400 rpm Western digital did just as well as the seagate...
