You know, whenever the new generation is released I think to myself how I will just wait until the next revision comes out and then pick up one of the older models for cheap... but now that I see i5's in the 15" I don't think I could bring myself to buy a Core 2 Duo anymore.

That's a good price. Three years ago I paid $1450 for my refurb 15" MBP 2.16 C2D/1GB RAM/120 GB HD.

jdc has it right, the 2.4 15" MBP is from two models ago. Prices on the last year's models still are the same as last week. I expect them to drop in a few weeks, just before they start selling the current models as refurbs.
