Bought a used iPod on eBay. Shipper shipped promptly via USPS Priority Mail. I've been waiting too long and wrote the seller to check on shipping. He sent the USPS confirmation number which shows that USPS says they delivered 4 days ago. I never saw it. Besides checking with neighbors and housemates, what recourse do I have?

Confirmation shows that the item was delivered to your address? Was it insured? It's time to go down the the post office and start filling out forms...

Ask a USPS person exactly what 'Delivery Confirmation" is and you'll get an odd, cryptic answer.
If you want PROOF of delivery to a specific address, DC is NOT what you want. I was told literally that DC means that it has been delivered, but if you want proof that is was delivered to a specific address, THAT costs a lot more.
But I believe that ebay takes DC as proof.
USPS won't do a search for missing mail until 30 days after it was posted.
Sorry, Not a lot of good news here.

Dodged a bullet.
Mailman put it in my neighbor's mailbox, and my neighbor hadn't checked his mail in a week.

Glad you have a good neighbor. We have an address with the same street number as someone on a street two blocks over. Our mail carrier keeps delivering our mail to them and theirs to us. We always take their mail to their house but they never bring our mail to us. Sucks to have bad neighbors.
