Hmmm, I don't use it real time for anything and not on my Mac. I just call the app up on my phone once a day or so and use it as a newspaper. It ends up being much like the print publications' apps except with content I'm more likely to read.

That constant feed of useless info was the reason I closed my Assbook account.
And there were only 4 people I "friended" on that one! All of whom are here.
It was the "friend of friend" comments that would occasionally get overwhelming.

Overwhelming for me is more than 2 spams to my owned domains per day.
