Costco - should I buy tires there?

Should I buy tires at Costco? Anyone buy a set that was not satisfactory and did they make proper adjustment? Looking at B.F.Goodrich with V performance rating.

Look for their 70 dollar off for 4 tires coupon. I've gotten a couple changes there and been happy with the service. Lifetime balance and rotation.

I started buying my tires at Sams (like Costco) when I realized that the cost of tires there, even with the membership cost, was a lot less than at standard tire stores.

I don't care for Costco because they bundle the cost of road hazard (or similar) into the cost of the tire, and with AWD vehicles if you want to use it on one tire they require you to buy three new ones even if the difference in circumference is within spec.

Plus they charge sales tax. Those two combined make Tire Rack less expensive for me. YMMV.

In a word, Yes. But since I am no longer a fan of Michelin - Costco does not have much other selection to offer.

Although I have had several good experiences with Discount Tire. I have gotten my last 2 sets of personal tires there and the last 4 sets of work tires there. I have been very pleased. Just got a new set of General Tires for my Avalanche. Matched prices & did a great job. The asked what my expectations were and then met them. Tough to argue with that!

A second for Discount Tires, although if Costco had what I wanted, would also consider. Good experience with both.

CostCo was good for us this past year. Set of Bridgestones all in with the $70 off was better then the best local deal. Free follow-up. Hard to beat.
For the "station" car we bought Kumho from the LTS. Good deal too. But a car that gets much let's mileage, let alone on our crappy NY "hiways".
I think, to some degree, it depends on what you're tiring (yea, OK, I've made up a meaning for a word).

it's a crapshoot depending on your local Costco install team.

my local store gave me two or three different answers to the same question involving my car.

ultimately, I just ordered through Costco online, had them delivered to the store and they installed them nicely. but, it was a bit of a PITA to get to that point.

(BTW, Bridgestone Potenza RE960s are what I got and they are *nice* )

We've been buying our tires from Costco since the first round of replacements on our 2000Toyota Camry.

I've found that their prices were the lowest (especially when you factor in all the extras* you get) and their service has been the best.

We shop at Costco at least once a week and if we ever need anything done to our tires, (check and fill air, check for leaks, balance* and rotation,*) we can just leave the car with the tire department and come back to find everything done…all at no charge! I've even pulled up outside the work bays and had a worker come right out, check the tires and top off the air. No wait time! Oh, btw, we found that we can do this at any Costco with a tire department, anywhere.

We had a problem, once, with one of a new set of tires. There seemed that something was just not right with the ride after the installation. They double and triple checked, but couldn't pin down the problem. They replaced the tires with no fuss and everything was perfect after that. There has never been a shred of difficulty in dealing with the Costco people.

Now, in my experience, that's service!

I use americas tires. Go to costco and get the quote. Head to america's tires. They will beat it, usually by 10% including the $70 off coupon.
