I'm sorry I didn't post sooner. Just saw the thread this morning. There is so much to say but the words just aren't there. My thoughts are with your son, you, and your family during this difficult time. I look forward to reading about his improving condition and recovery.

It sounds like he is making progress. If they can wean down the medications to keep his blood pressure up, while still taking some of the strain off his heart muscle, that seems like a good sign to me. Hopefully, they can transport him to Duke today.

Keep your chin up. You are doing great by being there for him. The beeps and monitors in the room are disconcerting and distracting, but they are doing their job, keeping the doctors and ICU nurses informed on his condition. He knows you are with him. Talk to him and keep him calm.
