I need to get new grips for my kid's bike, but how do I know what size?
#1
Had picked up a nice used bike for him on CL a few months ago, but I need to replace the grips.

I'm at work and don't know what size to order off Amazon Prime.

Is there something like a standard size for kids' bikes or something like that?

Thanks.

Alas, no. Handlebars are all different sizes.

Heck, go Old School... Tape !

How does one measure the size? And, what size are they quoting when they something like "137 mm?"

This is just an example:

I have bought at the bike shop and replaced a few grips, but they do tend to be odd sizes, especially on kids' bikes.

Wouldn't it be easier to just swing by a bike shop? For some things online shopping is not the best way.

i vote for bike shop. i don't think i'd use bar wrap on a kids bike - too much abuse for that.

Pretty standard-- 1". They have a (minimal) selection of replacements at Ace Hardware and Target.

Admit it, you were hoping for a little drama like the last bike question...

You got it. My day is kinda dragging, so I thought it would be nice to initiate a knock down drag out fight over bike grips.
