hard drive went down...any way to retrieve data on it?
#1
It is an 80 gig maxtor Apple original. The thing has some limited data, but information that the wife wanted. Is there a way to retrieve the data? The drive wont mount, but will show up in disk utility. I cannot verify/repair the drive.

Thanks.

Data Rescue might be able to recover some of it.

If all software routes fail - Prosoft Data Rescue recovery service or Drive Savers would be the route....

If the drive can at least be seen by your repair utilities, there's a chance that you can recover something from it.

I can see the drive and the drive name...but data rescue keeps popping up with alerts that the drive is reading slow...and needs me to click the ignore button.
