How's everyone feeling about Lion these days?

If we want to stick with Apple we really don't have a choice but to plunge forward even if we don't agree with all of Apple's vision of the future. I liked snow leopard better but Lion is the future so I have it installed and I have overcome "most" of the problems it introduces.

:agree:

Lion is my least favorite OS since starting o macs in the early 90's. As has been said, it is Apple's Vista.

I think the success of apple's mobile devices has tricked them into thinking it is the interface of the future. A desktop computer just isn't used like a small mobile device though. I would not be surprised to see some of us hobbyist forced to move to the linux platform as Apple starts locking down the desktop like they have the mobile devices.

I'm thinking about moving to Lion soon for the same reasons as the OP. But, I've got a bunch of AppleWorks files that I need to convert first. Sounds boring and time consuming. My understanding is that you can't convert them (to Pages, for example) after upgrading from SL to Lion.

It broke Conflict Catcher, but aside from that, it's fine.

Oh, and the iCal and Address Book skeuomorphic skins are mmm delicious.

I've been using Lion on some secondary machines. It seems ok.

I need to resolve one app that uses Rosetta before I move the main machine to Lion.

I bit the bullet and downloaded Lion so my Calendar and Address Book would sync with iCloud & my iPhone. I got used to the reverse scrolling and so far, I am pleasantly surprised with Lion. The only downside I found was that it broke iMote, a small app I used to keep track of my iTunes library.

Not using the cloud for anything at this point, and not using Lion until I absolutely have to.

It's looking like i will need to upgrade a machine to Lion very soon so I can use the new Configurator app with my new class set of iPads.

Getting some memory from a friend this weekend and need to make sure a few legacy Appleworks and FileMaker files are going to get converted somehow....

It's inevitable...gotta move forward because i am not moving to Linux or Windows.

We have it on our 27" iMac and I use that computer the least (In fact, wish I would of gave the wife my MBP and bought myself a nice new MBP instead). Great machine but the damn OS is pretty damn clumsy if you ask me!!! Not horrible... Just kind of yucky!!! It's almost as if Apple is going to a touch screen interface and they forgot they don't have any desktops that have touch screens yet.

That being said... I guess I'll be upgrading the 3 year old MBP soon.

I've got it on a 27" IMAC with 16 gig ram and it runs like winter molasses running uphill!
