Typical Obama lie

Your county health department is already overburdened and now you would like to see them have to help even more people than they are trying to help already. Your county health department gets federal funds as well as other grants and funding, and they will have to scramble to pay for the additional work you are trying to lay on them. Or turn people away, possibly. I'm sure they and their patients will thank you for the extra burden of time and money that you are wishing upon them.

This is about trying to close down what folks like you consider to be an "abortion mill". Speaking as someone who used Planned Parenthood back when I was a starving art student in the middle of a city, I can assure you that they provide a slew of medical services for women. Perhaps Obama, a man in case you didn't notice, is wrong about actually getting a mammogram AT PP. But he isn't wrong about women "relying on" them to help them get a mammogram.

PS: I notice that "Live Action", a virulently anti-abortion group, keeps cutting Obama off before the part where he says "cervical cancer screenings". Because they know that those are done in Planned Parenthood and they don't want to admit that such a thing goes on there.

You know darned well you can't get a mammogram without a prescription.

not to belie the crappiness of the OP but i do wonder about this statement. when i schedule my yearly mammogram i do it a week or two before my annual physical. the hospital asks who my doctor is so maybe they have standing arrangements with some physicians but i don't have a prescription when i call for the mammogram appointment. and i know there are walk-up traveling trailers that offer mammograms around the area.

It depends on your insurance plan. Or lack thereof, for some. My insurance doesn't require referrals for anything, but at my former job referrals were required for EVERYthing or so it seemed.

The term I think she means is referral, which you do have to have when you schedule with an imaging center. If you self-refer it's because your insurance company is keeping track of when and where you have this test, and how often. And if you have insurance that covers mammograms, you most likely are not using Planned Parenthood.

Apropos:
http://justlikeaslattery.wordpress.com/2...ammograms/

Increasingly, referrals and prescriptions are being merged into one, adding to the confusion (and often in my own experience resulting in not having the minimum info required for a valid prescription.) You need a prescription for a medical procedure; unless you're prepared to pay cash you need a referral too.

Swampy,

The truth doesn't matter. This was just campaign talk. You aren't going to get anyone here acknowledge that even when it is as obviously as this. You would think someone like the President of the United States, who is put on a pedestal for being a master crafter of words would know the difference from a truthful statement and an embellished one? I would argue that he probably did know that was an untruth when he said it, but it was OK to lie because it helped the cause.

Truth for liberal politicians - make that ALL politicians is relative. Most lies are just considered untruths.

On the other hand, if Romney would have said something like this, you know this forum would be over it like a cheap suit.

At least conservative lies are for the good of the people and not destroying the country like liberal lies.
