Interesting story once again.
The linked video is 4 months before Keith died and the Who's last performance with him.
The story is pretty interesting because I didn't know the bit about what I think is one of the iconic pictures/videos in rock history: Pete sliding on the stage at the climax of Won't Get Fooled Again.
Here's where I mentioned that about a year ago:

EDIT: Guess I got the part about it being from the Isle of Wight festival wrong....

That is one hell of a last performance
SO grateful that I managed to see them once with the original cast...

Interesting-- I cone across that video frequently on Youtube, and of course have to watch it every time like a dope... but I've always thought that slide looked contrived/staged, i.e. something someone would do at the behest of a director but not in the context of a concert. Didn't know why though...

"Keith Moon was only 31 at the time, but his endless partying had taken a severe toll on his body. He was bloated and out of practice."
No sh!t! The first thing I noticed was what a lard butt Moon looked like and he surely doesn't look like that energy he usually has is there.

His weight gain was the reason the photog put him behind the chair back for the cover photo.

Thanks for sharing this. I've never seen the full version of this. Man, he destroys that Les Paul at the end. Now I want to see the whole concert.
The Kids Are Alright has got to be the best rockumentary ever! It turned me into a huge fan when I first saw it when I was around 12 or so. I think "Baba O'Reily" from that same concert followed footage from "My Generation" the Smothers Brothers. They looked so different to me so I thought they were different bands!
I only saw them on the "It's Hard" tour. Man that album sucked (except for Eminence Front, of course). I "recently" saw Daltry and Townhsend at the Hollywood Bowl about a week after Entwhisle died.
