Hopefully they will come out with an extra long cable so you can move about the house while it's charging.

Exactly. The Apple watch will have customizable menus that will allow you to put any function directly in the top-level menu except the one you most want.

Young people do not wear watches anymore. I can't imagine an Apple watch changing that.
