Glad to see that. Wonder what apps support it. I got the idea 'cause they sued Macromedia back in the day for over it. Then Fireworks could open PSDs fine, but they didn't display the contents accurately.

Doesn't GraphicsConverter support it?
Dunno, I'd never install that app again.
what did GraphicsConverter do to you?

Changed the file association for all graphics files on my system to GC, without asking me to do so. I contacted the dev and he said it was a known issue and was planning on fixing it. No way to revert. Took a long time to fix and I still run into the repercussions from time to time.

Time for Gimp to get serious and fix their bugs and be ready to become dominant.

I'll be on CS6 for a long, long time.

Guess I'll be sticking to CS6 (and 10.6.8) for as long as possible...

CS6 works fine with 10.7 and 10.8.
I'm on 10.6.8 for other reasons (Rosetta, printer drivers, and I prefer it).

I have several clients who depend upon the take-home licenses for license-compliance. Budgets are very thin. Buying a new license for every laptop is not always possible.

I think this will coerce a lot of companies into embracing software piracy.

If your not a professional that requires everything that PS has to offer I suggest you have a look at Acorn or Pixelmator

What crap. I just looked around for a CS6 upgrade for Photoshop and cannot find one. Apparently you can't even get an individual upgrade through Adobe: the site is offering only the cloud garbage. I really despise these a$$holes.

So what if you can discontinue your rental? How realistic is that? Do you really want to shell out if you just need to open a file and make a few changes?

Adobe is out of good ideas for their software. They cannot offer enough compelling features in mature applications. They can't make enough fixing bugs and the problems in previous versions. They are doing this to keep themselves afloat, and while those of us who use their software need them to continue to exist, this rental scheme is really hard to swallow.

I used to love their apps and respect them as a company. Those days are long gone.

Lightroom, Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements are still available for purchase as stand-alone, non-subscription apps. Lightroom is available both ways.

Wow. I'm going to live with CS3 for awhile then.

Might get a few Photoshop Elements licenses.

But there's just no way I'm paying $600 a year per license.

M$ has wanted to go subscription, Adobe just beat them to the punch.

Frankly, I'm just amazed at their balls. This cost is the same as you pay for a smartphone per year - including hardware.

NIH Image is an excellent program that does some functions people normally do in CS.

why hasn't anyone mentioned about not being able to work without a fast and stable internet connection?

No way I will I risk my timeline and workflow by being dependant on someone else. My reputation is worth too much.
