Apps are pretty big (I have apps that are 500MB to 1GB each) and a full iPad seems to prevent OS updates these days, but if you don't need the space, you don't need the space. I feel you. I'd get the mini 2 and save the dough if you aren't doing anything demanding.

Yeah, I can't believe some app sizes. Even the simplest ones seem to be 100+ megs. Several of the racing games are 1 GB.

Im wavering, had both in my cart at one time, but the tax pushed them up more than I wanted to spend.

You'd have to wait until the stock trickles down to vendors, but you should be able to get one from B&H Photo.

Except for the lack of TouchID, I'm happy with my iPad3 and miniR, for the moment. My next one will probably be the Air2.

It'll probably be next year for the miniR.

In the meantime, I need to figure out what to get my $200 Targét gift card.

The new iPad mini 3 is an extreme disappointment and rip-off. It has the same specs as the older model except for the fingerprint ID. How can Apple call this an upgrade? At least the new iPad Air has a better processor and camera, plus faster WI-FI. None of these improvements were incorporated into the new mini. For $50 less you can buy the older model and get twice as much storage

Wow, I didn't even notice that during the Keynote. Having the two sizes perform the same made a lot of sense; you only had to choose screen size. Today's lineup muddies the waters unnecessarily.

Really thinking about this, $250 is reasonable.

However -- however -- I think we are gonna go with the Air for $340. $90 for the extra screen seems doable.

The mini is far more mobile than the Air.

If the iPad is going to live in a house, get the Air.

If it's going to roll with people on the go, get the mini.
