Sorry to keep asking about this, but my phone comes tomorrow and I need help. I sprung for the T Mobile, hoping to activate it on verizon.
Apparently, this is entirely possible, but I need a bit of help.
rgG posted "go to the Verizon store and tell them you are getting a new phone from eBay and you will need a new SIM for it, so you can activate it, when it arrives. You will still need to borrow a Verizon LTE 4G phone, with the same size SIM, to activate the SIM, as the TMobile iPhone won't work to activate, but should work once you pop the activated SIM in."
So this is what I intend to do. I'm ok getting the SIM, but can someone help me with PRECISE instructions on how to activate the SIM on a Verizon phone that is someone else's phone? Do I just remove their SIM, pop the other one in, and then what?
What activates it?
After that, do I just pull the SIM and put it in my phone, then replace their original SIM, no harm, no foul?
I certainly don't want to screw up someone else's phone, so I apologize in advance, but I need help here.

From what I have read, that is exactly what you do. I have not done it myself, but have asked on other Forums and they say that is how it works. I do not have the directions for how to activate a Verizon SIM, but they should be available on Verizon's website.
As to what is activating the SIM, you are just using any Verizon LTE phone to get your information onto the SIM. After the phone, with the new SIM, is active, your info is on the SIM and it will transfer to any phone that you pop it into.
Also, do not do anything with the phone, until you remove the TMobile SIM. Take it out immediately, when you get the phone. At least that is what I have read.
Be advised, I have not activated a TMobile unlocked iPhone or put it on Verizon, but I have read it will work. I think it will, but if I were going to pay full price for a 6 and use it on Verizon, I would get the Verizon version. I do not see how Verizon could do anything to keep you from using it, once you get it activated, but it will show as an unapproved device, from what I have read, and I would assume they will do nothing to support it. Even though you would have to wait a bit, most likely, to get the Verizon version, I think having Apple swap out the phone would be best. That said, best of luck getting it up and running, and report back.

If I could get a full price from Verizon, I would, but they are not offered and I was told it would be 6 months before they will be offered.

I have heard that Apple will sell a full priced Verizon version of iPhones if you tell them it is a replacement phone for one on your account, which this is. I think it would be worth a trip there, if you are near an Apple Store.
This is a YMMV type of thing, but $750 or more is a high risk for a phone that really isn't meant to run on Verizon.

That doesn't really help, we are eligible for an upgrade, but not with our unlimited plan.
Thats why I want a full price

So, if you broke the phone you have now on unlimited, Verizon would not sell you a full price 6+?
I would be in that Verizon store and make them explain that to me.

That article says that if the system shows you are not eligible for an upgrade, like you are not, then the system will offer you one at full price.
