what do you call people who require immediate response from you?

Whiney bastidges... A few months ago, a friend found an iPhone on the sidewalk by his house on a Sunday morning, we looked it over and called the owner about picking it up. In the meantime, the phone started getting a bunch of messages from people who were extremely perturbed about being out of contact for a few hours. I told my buddy, "We could really wreck this guy's social life without half trying."

Sounds like something close to Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

A more-detailed description can be found here. (scroll down to the last item in Cluster B.

this came up recently when I put an ad on CL and immediately got some dude virtually screaming that he needed to get in touch with me, NOW! I put the messages (like 9 of them) in spam, so he then used another address and then wrote his tale of woe of how I did not get in touch with him at the other address and sounded as if he was going to off himself because of it.
I don't think craigslist is the best place for personals ads anymore.

i am actually seeking the clinical definition....
What you're describing may be too broad for one definition, but co-dependency might be in the ballpartk. Also, it's a typical trait of Borderline Personality Disorder that the person needs your attention, postive or negative, to fill their void.
