I know for sure it was around August 1998, because it was one of my first additions to my UNIX Netscape bookmarks at school.

I still am not forgiving them for ruining their the forum by sectioning it. Which led to its demise and now to the demise of Dealmac.

In 97 a coworker at the student newspaper gave me the info. I don't believe he is still part of this community but I am happy that he told me about it.
