NEW YORK (AP) -- Amazon is cutting the price of its $99 annual Prime membership program to $67 on Friday for new members to celebrate its original series "Transparent" winning 5 Emmys at the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

The deal will start on Friday at 12:00 a.m. ET. and end at 11:59 p.m. PT., or 2:59 a.m. ET.
The latest deal can be found at amazon.com/transparentprime beginning Friday

Hmmm, wonder if I can cancel my 30 day free trial (or some such), then get this deal?

I let my Prime membership lapse when Amazon jacked the price up. I just may join again at $67. Thanks for the post!

Thanks for the heads up!

I did one of their trial memberships (either "Family" or an "Educational/Student" type) some time ago, and just logged in to see, again, what the benefits were, and noticed that they're offering me a membership for 50% off, which is only $49!

I was seriously considering the $67 membership when I read this post, but now at $49, I will *really* consider it. The fact that it's free 2 day shipping is pretty nice! I realize it's only on "Prime Eligible" items, but I bet I'd make up the $49 within a year.

I know Amazon streaming isn't considered that great, but it'd be cool to have as an option, too.

i find that most things i want/need are Prime eligible. 41 orders so far this year. 75 last year. i do watch Prime vids and it's great for travel that you can now download them. definitely worth the price of admission for me even at full price.

My Prime membership expires on the 24th and I have yet to update my credit card info... I wonder if I'll be able to snag this... I'm skeptical but if this works in my favor I'll be pleasantly surprised.

last time they had a deal, some of us were able to buy it as a gift and send it back to our own address, I did that and I was able to renew for $79 back then. I will try this again, mine is due for renewal in Feb.
