Iphone 5 vs 4s Speed

I have an iPhone 4s I'm thinking of upgrading to my spare 5. Can anyone comment on the speed difference between the two? I'm sure the 5 is faster. Both phone are running 8.4.1. Does ios 9 slow down the 5 appreciably? I've watched youtube videos but need real world feedback. Thanks!

The 5 is a significant upgrade. Geekbench says the 5 is roughly 3 times faster than the 4s in terms of processor. More importantly, the 5 is the first iPhone with LTE. Depending on your carrier, the 5 could be significantly faster in network performance.

Thanks. My carrier is Verizon - on a grandfathered in unlimited plan. Side by side it is a bit faster, but I haven't restored the 4s to it yet.

Should be quite a speed jump - Verizon has good lte and crappy 3G.
