Windows OSes: 7 Pro or 8 Pro?

Same reason: need to use Access. Hence, Windows OS. Happy with 7 Pro; it's time to upgrade but not Windows 10. Not yet. Have a copy of Windows 8 Pro. Should I go for it until Windows 10 is more stable?

This one is said to be worse, with no way to shut off the intrusive stuff. MS has backtracked a little and claim to have changed what they collect, but it appears that they are not being truthful about that.

Windows 8 is slow and bogged down. Window 10 involuntarily updated itself and ran my fan until it killed the laptop.

If I had to choose between the three I would use 7.

That all being said, I will stick with Mac OS.

7 or 10, preferably 7. Mrs. Buzz's corporate device is Win 8 based, and she's slowly (very slowly) getting the hang of it. I suspect they'll go to 10 at some point and the learning curve will begin again, as the more she learns about 8, the more she forgets about 7. If you're gonna be stuck in the wild, at M$'s mercy, go w/ what you can live/exist with. The ONLY saving grace w/ Mrs. Buzz's corporate Win 8 device is that all updates/upgrades are pushed thru by corporate since they have some sort of captive gig that lessens the users' involvement. 7 is more mature than 10, so "normal" users would probably find the experience more palatable. I still don't know what Microslop was thinking w/ 8.

I was using 7 recently, and all this weird tiled garbage kept appearing on the screen. None of it seemed at all useful to me.
