It's been so long since I bought guitar strings. I keep an old japanese copy of an SG (maybe) while watching the tube - I noodle on it un-amplified. Popped a string the other day. It's been so long, I can't even remember what I should get to replace...
I want inexpensive, med-light gauge - not too particular...
Suggestions from amazon or ebay please? Or?

Quickest solution is to buy from a local music store.
Otherwise, I'd hit Musician's Friend or Amazon.

Right, if I needed one NOW, I'd just hit the closest store. Preferably not Guitar Center, unless they were having a good sale...
But if you can wait a couple days, yeah, Amazon.

eBay and Amazon have them and you can buy a set at a time if that's all you need.

...Oh, were you looking for a recommendation for the strings?
Elixir's are okay for light strings.
Mediums, I like the tone on Blue Steels.

I used to love Fender Silver Bullets, but I don't think they make them any more. [Edit: yes, they do.]
D'Addarios work well for me these days... but standard disclaimer, I suck.

If you want a recommendation, I like D'Addario Phosphor Bronze for acoustic. I can't stand coated strings.
