I watched this summer replacement just on the title alone but the writing has hooked me in, especially the dog's.
Yes, a talking dog...
that had me howling and snorting soda last night during the first two episodes (TIVO). Clever writing but I really don't see it as a regular series because I don't think they can sustain the writing quality.
Worth a look...
And extra points for showing "regular" people instead of ultra thin, ultra hip, ultra vapid ones.

I like it overall. It manages to be both entertaining and gently sweet most of the time.
...But there are long periods where it's just plain insipid. The writing and direction are inconsistent and it's usually very obvious where they're going from the start of each episode. It doesn't hold my attention for the whole half hour.
I agree that it's probably unsustainable in the long-term with these issues.

You nailed it. My wife and I watched the premier episode and felt the same way. I'll be _way_ surprised if it lasts as a series. Definitely not planning to go out of my way to watch it again. May stop for a few minutes if I notice it when flipping channels.
