Yes that was an interesting article, thanks sam. The conclusion seems reasonable enough: Reagan may have been tuned out in the later years of his second term, but had loyal, competent staff and the goodwill of the public. DT, not so much.

Absolutely. Staff that insulates and protects the President from himself kept Reagan from collapsing. Then again, Reagan wasn't a psychotic narcissist. Kelly tries, but Donnie keeps escaping the daycare ward.

Confusedmiley-laughing001: sadly

Why is Kelly in on DACA talks? I keep hearing his name mentioned in meetings with congress people.

I'm not so sure Trump has dementia. I think Trump never wanted the job, is tired, and is bored by it all. He knows nothing except whatever works to line his pockets and create adulation. That's it. Pretty much a simpleton con artist.

I go back and forth on this. He does seem to be more inarticulate than he once was. And he does seem to have trouble curbing his impulses. I don't think dementia has to negate the fact that he probably IS tired and bored and sorry he won.

I doubt it is much fun to go from spending each day feeling like you are King of the World to spending each day befuddled by a job that is light years beyond one's ability. No wonder he likes to golf, where he can pretend nothing has changed.

The stress has to have taken a toll, he's never had to work this hard or be under this much pressure and scrutiny in his life. It's tough on everyone who takes this job but he's probably suffering ill effects more than average, even though he has yet to face a national crisis. (I pray he never does).

I don't think he has dementia, just a temperament entirely unsuited for the office he holds. And because his staff is so disloyal and dysfunctional, we're getting to hear about so much of it.

I think 45 has been on a slow downward slide. Reagan-heimers doesn't strike overnight. Just because he can preside over a dog and pony show for 50 minutes doesn't prove his long term mental competence and stability.

Far more important than Ronnie Ray Gun's or Dumbf's own mental health issues are how they've both dealt with the mental health issues of this country. Ronnie simply turned them out the streets and cut off funding here in Cali when he was Gov. It's been a free-for-all ever since. We call them "homeless people" now. Dumbf tries to imply they've all come from Mexico or some other S***hole country …
