Often forgotten or overlooked is that Larry Flynt was an extremely strong advocate for the first amendment. Hustler Magazine, Inc. v. Falwell was a landmark 1988 SCOTUS decision. It allowed that public figures could be parodied and removed any tort actions against the publication.

For that, thank you Mr. Flynt and RIP

A misogynist who ended up being a pawn in the fight for free speech. He had a nice long life.

Yeah, he was first and foremost interested in the Benjamins.

A first amendment crusader? LOL

R.I.P.

I don't like speaking ill of the dead.

I read his magazine back when I was a teen. It was outrageous. Today, I don't think I could stomach it.

I remember "reading" a Hustler for the first time....

Hustler? Yes he was
first amendment crusader? Absolutely.

And I could be cancelled for this in future.

He also bought revealing photos (and the rights to them) of a female soldier for a large sum of money with no intention of publishing them.

Nobody said he didn't take on 1st amendment fights in his career. But that doesn't change the fact that he was deeply misogynistic, and mistreated women throughout his career.

How exactly did he mistreat these women of which you speak?
