I need a cordless screwdriver recommendation

This one is apparently being dropped by Lowes and HD. I am not sure if it is being discontinued or maybe updated by Bosch, but it looks like it should be good for my needs. It is marked down at Lowes to $89 and comes with two batteries and a charger. I like that is a 3/8", which I think is what my other one is. It is very lightweight, 2.14lbs, which is a BIG plus.
They supposedly have them in stock at my local Lowes. HD shows them as discontinued, so no stock. Sad
Amazon has them for $99, but I reported the lower price at Lowes, so we will see if they drop their price. Big Grin

My corded drill is a heavy old Ryobi, before they were that bright green.

"I need a screwdriver, not a cordless drill with a screwdriver bit, as the drills are often too bulky to get into the areas that I need to put a screw. "

How quickly you forget. Or change your mind. Or both.

I didn’t realized they now had such small and lightweight drill/drivers. After thinking more about it, I realized it would be a pain to have to get out the corded drill AND a cordless screwdriver, for a lot of jobs. I am also worried that the screwdriver alone might not be powerful enough to do even light drilling, so maybe I was just wrong about what would be best. Big Grin

I have that 12V drill, and I Laos have the 12V driver and also an impact driver. I like them.

EDIT: I think they are not brushless though, not sure if that makes a difference for the occasional use. Maybe a pro cares about this, I don't.

Thanks for the recommendation.
Brushless would be better, but as you say, for my occasional use, it really doesn’t matter.

I have a DeWalt cordless screwdriver that is probably massoverkill for most people, but I bought it on a steep discount. It’s got a lot of torque. One thing I like about it is to change the direction of the bits rotation from clockwise to counterclockwise, you simply rotate the driver itself a little bit to the left or right as you start the screw. There is no manual switch on the body of the screwdriver to check before you begin.

I have the same DeWalt screwdriver. It works very well for it's intended purpose. Lightweight and easy to use once you get the hang of turning the handle in the direction you want the tool to operate.

Ok, well I changed my mind, AGAIN, lol.
I just pulled the trigger on this one:
https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-XTREME-1...1000970052
$99 was $139

I would have bought from HD, but they don't carry this particular 12V line from DeWalt. Amazon has it for the same price, but in theory, I will be able to pick it up at my local Lowes, unless there stock is way off, which is often is. They are supposed to email me, when/if they fill my order. It said they had 4, when I placed the order, but that store can lose inventory with the best of them. We will see if it fills. If not, I can hit up Amazon.

I read a wirecutter review where they said it was the best for 2021, mainly because it was so comfortable to hold. The runner up was the Bosch, but they said the DeWalt was much more comfortable, so I decided to get it.

speaking about these drills and screwdrivers, what are the numbers listed on the clutch? sure it's a torque but what are the units? Are different brands using the same scale? i.e. 10 on the desalt is the same as 10 on the Bosch?

Thanks

Update: just got the email saying it is ready. I am surprised it was pulled that quickly.

My corded drill has those. I don’t think they are units of anything, just a scale showing low to high, at least that’s my guess and the way I use them.
