iPhone 13
#1
After 5 years her LG finally crossed to the other side, Wife got herself an iPhone 13 from our local T-Mobile store yesterday. It was the first time we decided on an iPhone. She had a work provided iPhone years ago. She liked it but for a personal one, she felt iPhones were overpriced and overrated like Toyota cars. Now that our budget allows she splurged on one. She picked the 13 due to its size as she did not care much for the bigger screens on other models. What are the pros and the cons of the iPhone 13? Was it not made in 2021?

I don't have the 13, but I do have the 12, coming from a 6s. If it is as good or better than the 12, the pros are better battery life, great screen, fast, 5G, great design, easy to hold, ummm, I'm sure there are more pros. The cons? Right now, I really can't think of any. I am very pleased with my 12 after over a year of ownership. The 13 came out last year, so yes, a 2021 model. Hope this helps.

As an aside, I kinda never understood the overpriced concern. It's certainly not cheap but I was always a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

She got the latest and greatest, although there's a pretty big range so its not clear where she landed in the range.

As best I know the only possible 'con' is price. I'm super happy with my 13. I upgraded from an 8 and I'm impressed with how nearly everything is improved.

I don't own one so take this for what it's worth, but based on pricing and features, I think the 13 is the best choice for most people right now. I have an 11 Pro which I still love, and my wife has an 11, but we are replacing one of the kids' older phones for a special gift, and the 13 seems like a no brainer for the next 3+ years.

If someone is really into photography and videos as a hobby, I think it's worth it to splurge on the 13 Pro, but the 13 has everything else you want. We're still a few months away from the next model, so the 13 series is the newest you can get.

I skipped the iPhone 12, & 13.

The iPhone 11 Pro Max I bought at an Apple Store in Feb, 2020 is still going strong. I expect Apple will release the iPhone 14 this September and, I'll be watching closely to see if jumping to it makes sense for me. :oldfogey:

Thank you everyone! Based on everyone's opinions here (should I expect any difference from a Mac fanatics here :RollingEyesSmiley5:?) Wife got a good phone at $800.
As for the 13 Pro, the TMobile sale rep would not recommend it due to its short battery's duration.

iPhones are neither overpriced nor overrated. I hope she will now find that out through direct experience!

The iPhone 13 was introduced in September 2021 and is still Apple's latest and greatest. Regarding pros and cons:

Just perused iPhones 12 and 13 on a visit to the Apple Store in Portland OR a couple of weeks ago (way outside my home territory), and was impressed with the screen clarity. Surprising what a difference it made — very nice for older eyes like mine! Haven't upgraded yet but now I really want to...

Damn, it did not take that long...a couple of hours after I posted this on Mac Forum, she would not let me touch HER iPhone to check my news feed on Twitter Confusedurrender: All is good with the Wife. Thanks again guys and gals! BTW, Wife is VERY happy that I am back on the forum Confusedmiley-music039:
