All COVID-19 Discussion GOES HERE

At what point do we (as in those of us who are not medically compromised) start treating a Covid infection as a regular cold... wear a mask, go to work, keep your test results to yourself....

Perhaps treat it like the flu, not like a cold.

Posting on this sticky so I don't get in trouble, but it's been pretty quiet for more than a month.

-------

After reading posts here on the forum about people getting vaccines again, I did a little research and found this on the CDC website.

People aged 12 years and older who got Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines before September 12, 2023, or Novavax COVID-19 vaccine before October 3, 2023, should get 1 updated Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.

According to my records, I had Dose 6 administered on Oct 30, 2023. Pfizer 2023-24 Covid-19 Vaccine

I should be good, no? Or is there some new formula out there that the CDC doesn't even know about? Before I checked the CDC website I tried to book a shot at CVS, but none of them had the Pfizer, and I kind of want to stick with what's been working. Thanks.

I believe the one you got is the latest.
I got my last shot just after the latest one came out, last Oct, because I was traveling.

I did read that if you are older it would be ok to get another shot now and then the updated version in 3-4 months when it comes out.

I'm gonna get whatever the latest one is on Monday.

Thanks. I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled for the latest and greatest in the Fall.

Hope you make it til Fall. Donna and I both caught it while in different rehab facilities last Spring. We were fully vaxxed so if not for the test we'd have attributed it to having a head cold.

With that in mind we're heading out into 100ยบ Mon to get the latest Moderna. It may all be anecdotal but seems the more vaxxed you are the less effect it has even if you do catch again.

Our son tested positive this Wednesday for Covid. Started out early in the day as a bad headache, sore throat, then shakes and chills, woke in the middle of the night in a pool sweat. This morning, about 24 hours later, he was feeling quite a bit better but not feeling like really doing anything. He has a lot of nasal drainage.

Sorry to hear that. I hope he is better quickly.

Thanks! He was doing quite a bit better after only 36 hours.
