My favorite part from the WaPo article (which is currently their “number 1” article):

Remarking on the case against Dugan, Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a social media post Friday: “No one is above the law.”

Well… except for all those January 6 folks, and the current Defense Secretary, and felons Steve Bannon, and Paul Manafort, and Dinesh Disouza, and Joe Arpaio…etc, etc…and finally, of course the felon who pardoned them all, the Patron Saint of If The President Does It It’s Not Illegal And The SCOTUS Says So.

In the same vein, (via Wonkette) Tulsi Gabbard is now going after US intelligence folks who wouldn’t toe Trump’s lie …err, line and instead dared to tell the press that Trump is full of BS:

Tulsi Gabbard, the turnip-brained Gidget clone ironically serving as America’s Director of National Intelligence, has a problem. Her boss, Donald Trump, needs a legal justification for rounding up undocumented Venezuelan immigrants and sending them to an El Salvadoran gulag…

One solution the Trump team hit on is to claim that many Venezuelans are members of the criminal gang Tren de Aragua, declare that the gang is “invading” America, and then invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to justify loading as many shackled, brown-skinned men as they can fit onto planes and flying them out of the country.

[But you have to] claim that TdA has created a national security emergency because it is secretly working with the Venezuelan government to destabilize America by adding to the burden of angry white people who hate having to press 1 for English, [so] you can designate the gang as a foreign terrorist organization, and voila! No due process, no court hearings, no legal rights. It’s just instant imprisonment in a foreign labor camp for the alleged invasion force.

The problem for Gabbard is that 17 of America’s 18 intelligence agencies, which she oversees, have concluded that TdA is not being directed by the Venezuelan government. That kills the entire Trump administration rationale for its actions.

The solution? Claim that all the intelligence agencies are liars who have been infiltrated by “deep state” agents determined to sabotage Trump’s presidency and undermine democracy. Then, unilaterally overrule the agencies’ conclusions so Trump won’t get mad at you.

…and prosecute those who don’t comply:

Tulsi Gabbard tweet wrote:

The weaponization of intelligence to undermine the President's agenda is an assault on democracy. Those behind this illegal leak of classified intelligence

You mean like Trump? Or his minion Kegsbreath?

…twisted and manipulated to convey the exact opposite finding, will be held accountable under the full force of the law. Rooting out this politicization of intelligence is exactly what President Trump campaigned on and what Americans overwhelmingly voted for.

(Note: the narrowest positive popular-vote winning margin since Nixon =/= “overwhelming voted for”)

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence fully supports the assessment [of only 1 out of 18 Federal agencies] that the foreign terrorist organization, Tren De Aragua, is acting with the support of the Maduro Regime, and thus subject to arrest, detention and removal as alien enemies of the United States.

…and so let the witch hunt begin.

A county judge in New Mexico has lost his job and been barred from office for life, and now arrested by the Feds along with his wife, for allegedly having an undocumented immigrant from El Salvador living in their house (or at least visiting the house.). He is supposedly a gang member wanted by ATF.

We only have the government side of this story, not the judge's. It wouldn't benefit him or his wife to harbor this person...also they have young kids...something is off.

Excellent thread by the Chair of Wisconsin Election Commission. The arrest of this judge in Wisconsin is BS.

She sent the man into a public hallway where agents were waiting to arrest him, and they walked by him, apparently confused. Some kind of Keystone Cops moment that embarrassed the ICE agents.

I guess he wasn’t swarthy or brown enough to get their attention.

well..this might not be the best example of the actual horrifics that Trump and his shitheads are capable of. This guy had process issues dating way back and he was in court for domestic abuse charges.
People have and do get arrested in court buildings for charges other than what they:re there on that day for. There is an etiquette. Officials wait in the hall for them to come out. They did have an administrative warrant. The Judge seems to have acted on her building anger as this developed, probably not the best career move. And Flores Ruiz was in court for violent crimes and he was also ordered to leave the country in 2023-which was during the Biden admin.

All my friends are going nuts on Social Media posting memes and sighing, and getting all pumped on this one. ItConfused quite annoying.

So..I don:t think its a worthy example of the crap that is happening..This Judge made a poor decision to give this guy a conduit to get away from the ICE or FBI people who were there with a warrant..There is also a damn good chance, based on info that is now coming out about him, that he should be locked up and then dropped off in Mexico.. He, allegedly, hit a guy who was complaining about Ruiz's loud music 30 times, then started strangling the dude and then hit a Woman. And to repeat..he was ordered to leave the country during the Biden for issues i think dating back to around 2013

I'm reading her analysis and the thread. I'm not completely onboard with the Election Chair's spin that the Judge was not trying to intentionally get Ruiz past the agents.
The crux of the spin posted seems to be that while the judge let Ruiz out of the courtroom through a door that leads to a private jury area, from that room you end up in the hallway anyway. Just in a different location from where the agents expected Ruiz to appear. They were caught off guard, and he got a bit of a lead on them in the elevators and they had to chase him down outside, but they got him so what's the big deal.

The complaint is that she stalled them by sending them to another judge to declare their intentions, then quickly dealt with the Ruiz case without actually completing the business he was there for, then sent him out via an unusual path. Enough to muck up the arrest.

Smelling like obstruction to me. Maybe civil disobedience, but as Kraniac says, it's a tougher sell when Ruiz is a model case for deportation.
