Donald Trump has questioned Vladimir Putin's willingness to end the war in Ukraine following his meeting with the country's leader Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of Pope Francis's funeral.

Posting on social media after leaving Rome, Trump said he feared Putin was "tapping me along" after Moscow's strikes on Kyiv earlier this week, adding there was "no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas".

Earlier in the day Trump and Zelensky were seen in deep discussion in St Peter's Basilica shortly before the funeral began.

The White House described the 15-minute meeting with Zelensky as "very productive". The Ukrainian president said it had the "potential to become historic".

I was going to ask what the hell "tapping me along" meant, too. Then I remembered that the idiot makes up words all the time, so he probably dosn't know either.

I think he means there was no good reason. There was also no good reason for Russia/Putin to invade Ukraine in the first place.

Is CFDT really that stupid and enthralled by Putin that he's just now figuring out that Putin is a war criminal?

along with many other things he says, it reminds me of the way my grandfather would talk, sort of straight out of the 1940s. except even my uneducated grandfather had a better vocabulary.

In CFDT context, he means Pootie had him bent over without the courtesy of a reach-around.

Or Pootie is given him the ol' song and dance.
