Posted the news elsewhere -- nobody cared:

Man, does it make the Quicksilver look small.

I have to go back to school -- so the first post from the new machine will probably have to wait until the weekend. I want to time some After Effects and FCP renders, and vectorize some big PSDs in Studio Artist with the 800DP before I transfer everything over -- try to put some numbers to the performance gain going from 2 800Mhz G4s to 4 2.5GHz G5s.

It sure is a pretty grey metal box. Since the QS was named "deepee" , I guess this one will have to be "kewpie"?

Elsewhere is a pretty desolate place these days.

Hey man, I cared. I even posted my response "elsewhere". Here is a recap:

I was always partial to the way the Quicksilver looked. I think it was the best looking Power Mac G4. Since the MDD processor upgrades have been slow in coming, I guess the QS has proven more future proof. Oh yeah, congratulations on your new gear.

Thx for the leaders all -- it has been a long time.

It sits besides me now. It is too tall to fit into the rack where I have the Quicksilver. I'l need to take the rack apart and raise the middle shelf. I think I'll take the opportunity to rearrange my office.
