Useless Poll: Mouse Button habits (multi-button mice)?
#1
Here's an off the wall question for you... god knows why it came to mind...

Using a multi-button mouse... (I will be careful to phrase this so it doesn't discriminate no matter which had you use for the mouse...).
For using the scroll wheel.. do you use;
A) Your "left mouse button" finger or
B ) Your "right mouse button" finger.

I'm left handed, and find myself using my "right mouse button" finger to use the scroll wheel.

Index finger- left mouse button
Middle finger - Scroll wheel, right mouse button, gesturing at computers (I use Windows at work).

Left button: click
Center button: click-lock
Right button: double click

Two thumb-operated buttons: the top one scrolls up or down, the other is a "rocker" that is set to do "forward" and "back".

I adore my mousie.

Hmm, interesting. I'm right-handed, but quite ambidextrous at times. I have a right-handed optical, wireless trackball... when using right-handed, thumb on ball, index on left, middle on scroll, ring on right. when using left-handed, I have been known to use my pinky on the ball, and flip everything else likewise.

I'm a rightie w/ M$ exploder trackball...

"General/Global" settings;
bottom thumb = click
scroll wheel = in between bottom/top, also used by thumb
scroll wheel button = application toggler, also used by thumb
top thumb = contextual menu
index finger = track ball
middle finger = back
ring finger = double click
pinkie is really pissed cuz there ain't no more buttons, though pinkie is used to adjust pressure of hand that cannot raise by itself, and to pre-raise hand slightly for removal from trackball by other hand to try to avoid accidental clicking upon same

specific apps have their own programming, but that's just too weird/off the wall...

Index finger for left (normal) click and scroll (w/click)
Middle finger for right click
Thumb for left side click
Ring finger for right side click
Pinky for stabilization - it's waiting for a 5th button to magically appear
