Be sure to check out the details including their feedback. If i had the extra funds lying
around I would take the chance. It sounds a little too good to be true.

If I had money to throw away, I might try that one.

He has a low transaction record (10) coupled with negative feedback. Not very reassurring.

If he is a knowledgable seller, he would know that he is selling way too low and no one I know walks away from cash.

Heh, heh. I have a cousin in the area. I've emailed the guy to see if someone can come look at it (actually, I told him I was in the area). It'll be interesting to see his response. Will keep y'all updated...

One thing- he wants $25 to transfer the Applecare. The Applecare would travel with the machine.

It's unusual for a scammer to take PayPal, therefore I'd guess he's legit, if perhaps not very bright.

Yeah, that caught my eye too. I wonder if there's some work on the previous owner's part that is required when transferring AppleCare? I thought it travels regardless. Unless of course he's talking about some other kind of third party warranty.

Still waiting for his reply.

In the deep dark past I have had "officially" transferred Applecare- I wrote to Apple and got verification from Apple for my buyer- but in the last few years all you need is the serial. I've had a previously owned G4 AlBook into Applecare twice- the first time, the guy at Apple just re-registered it to my account.

It has all the marks of a scam. Especially the "This Computer Was A Gift" line which is intended to convince you that he's not a Mac guy so he doesn't know the real value.

Read his responses to the negative feedback. It practically is an admission of scam.
