I know this may not be the place for an appliance repair question, but I've had great help in the past from some very knowledgeable people here (somewhere in the archives is a thread helping me replace the motor in this dryer!). Now there's another problem: the gas burner doesn't come on. The ignitor *does* light, then goes out a few seconds later. I have checked for continuity on all the thermostats, thermal fuse, radiant sensor, AND the gas valve coils. They all show continuity (and yes, I did disconnect the wires to them first). I did not measure actual resistance, is it possible for the valve coils to be bad and not show as an open circuit?
Also, this may be a total coincidence but we had just had a gas delivery when this started. I thought there might be such thing as a vapor lock in the gas line, however our outdoor 100 gal propane tank feeds both this dryer and our hot water heater and we still have hot water. Is there a safe way to test that gas is actually coming down the line to the dryer? Thanks in advance for any tips!!
