Test pages are generally printed if you hold down the Line Feed or Paper Feed button while you power up the printer.

Harb, you are great man! I think you sent an ImageWriter II ethernet card (or something?) a few years ago... from a post, probably from the "Other" forum at that time.

Anyway, s-t, thanks for this post; it has inspired me to repair my 16/600 too.

Unless the (OS9) utility has been used to turn off the startup page, every time the printer is turned on you'll get a page with pagecount, and a few other factoids, including how much installed RAM is in the printer.

It comes standard with 8mb in two fully populated slots of 4mb each, which is probably sufficient, but uses standard 72 pin SIMMs and can take up to 32mb of RAM total.

Things are tanks. I've bought a few over the last couple of years at university surplus- the last one I got had only 2000 pages on it.

I have twin LaserWriter 360s and a the model like yours but I think it has a 12 in it instead (it's still in the garage, untested, - I've got no 'puter with LocalTalk!) - and I can't find my Asante' stuff.

Anyway... I read that the fusers need replaced about every 10 years, regardless of use, (or at 150,000 or some such)....... I wonder if that counts for a 100% unused fuser?

Cross my fingers, but the fuser in mine is 12 years old.
