If so are there free apps out there? It seems the people here at work just use Explorer and access it that way. Not certain. I have a mac, my dad PC and I want to help him access his new FTP site. I don't have a PC here and he is hours away.

FireFTP in Firefox works well. You can also do FTP from the command line in Windows. You just need to know the commands get, put, and a few others. Windows Explorer will also allow you to FTP.

I just discovered FireFTP, which works great.
Until now, I've been using CoreFTP LE and WinSCP - both free.

I use FreeFTP by Coffee Cup Software.

The only thing it does is bug you to purchase everytime you quit out of the app. No big deal. It looks almost like Transmit on the Mac, which is why I stayed with it.

At work we have Reflection for an FTP client. I still prefer to use the command line though.

Thanks again for your help. I'll look these up and see what is easier for dad to understand.

I use FileZilla. It's free and open-source and works quite well.

I'm amazed at how many people use FTP clients even though the OS supports FTP by default. Personally, I find it much easier to use Explorer than FTP clients.
