go for it. It is just a bundle of updates that you should have already installed anyway. There are only about 6 new things in it. I pushed it out to about 200 computer in 3 cities over the last 3 days. Only 1 computer had problems, and I think those were caused by the user anyway.

There is a somewhat rare problem with AMD based computers from big companies like HP. They installed a support file for Intel based computers and when SP3 is installed the computer goes into an endless reboot loop. I think you just have to make sure that one file is not on the computer and it will be fine.

These Windows desktops: one is Fry's Good Quality brand name with Celeron 2.66MHz; the other one is a BTO Windows XP SP2 P4 2.8xMHz.

Just don't put Vista on the Celeron.

We'll be waiting a good time before updating our work computers to XP3 - it took months before they were finished testing SP2 and authorized that - way back when. That said, I put in on both my intel macs at home with no ill effects (one because I went to Pro from Home and didn't feel like downloading 102 patches for SP2) - haven't updated the home PCs though (haven't even turned them on in weeks).
