Arabs buy the Chrysler Building
#11
[quote davester][quote Mr Downtown]Why is this news?
Because it's popular these days to demonize arabs. Jimmypoo's just stoking the fires.
i don't read this news item as demonization.

i see it as a clear example of the huge amounts of petro-dollars leaving the usa & western europe and residing within a few middle east countries/families.

this re-distributiion of wealth will surely have a political/social and economic for years to come.

without a real usa energy policy, we will always remain beholden to the oil patch marketplace.

i'm truly hoping our next president will challenge our society, our imagination to find technologies that will remove us from being captured by the dictates of oil.

ymmv

be well

Why do I only get to watch the commercial in these Yahoo news videos? Where is the actual report?

Most Americans choose to rent and blow their money on doo dads rather than save and own.

Suits me just fine. I love the Chrysler Building -- it's good to know it will be safe from the next round of attacks.

The Chrysler Building is my favorite building in Manhattan, maybe even the whole world. I LOVE the Art Deco gargoyles.

Did someone invent a care that runs on "pure oil"? Cool! What kind?

Since most cars run on gasoline, which requires a lot of expensive refining, a car that runs on "pure" oil would be interesting to see!

Diesels can run on pure veggie oil if you put an oil warmer system in them.
