Password or List app...?
#1
I'm looking for an app that requires a password to open, then shows a list of stuff-- in this case a list of apps and their corresponding passwords, not a app that supplies other apps with various assigned passwords.

I realize I could do this with a password-protected .dmg and a text file, but I was hoping for something a bit more elegant.

i've used Forgot It for years:

there are probably fancier apps but this does the job simply and well.

I've been fairly pleased with 1password... but then again, you didn't want that exact functionality.

How about a locked Excel spreadsheet? Or, make a text file in TextEdit, then print it as a secure PDF (locked with a password) somewhere on your computer.

I use License Keeper. Not sure if you can password protect the whole app though.

I like CiphSafe:

this seems specific to culling software licenses. if this could be combined with a password app like Forgot It, it'd be an awesome app for me!

The 1Password has become indespensible. You can even export an encrypted web page that will allow you to see your "list" of apps and passwords wherever you are, or just on your own machine.

Thanks, guys!

Jeff's idea was my first choice, but then I saw AA's app. I like that.

But I didn't know about that export feature of 1Password, which I added to my 'Phone though I've yet to use it.

Thanks again!

I love 1Password. It maybe overkill though for your needs.

I also own SafePlace (I bought before 1Password) and it's reliable and perhaps more suited to your needs.
