Well, I thought that's what "new" was for. ???

Huh? What's the problem with going a little larger on the fonts? It's basically unreadable for me now. And BL, I have no idea what you mean by your post.

Because they have been way oversized, bordering on cartoonish off & on since Friday.

The nice, tight formatting & ability to scan quickly diminishes with wide, oversized thin & bold fonts.

The old sizing was fine. To mimic the original formatting seems to be tough in this new version, and I think everyone was fairly happy with that.

You were actually quoting me GGD

"new" shows up on thread that you have never read as well as threads that you have read, so seeing "new" doesn't tell you that it's a thread that you've read before. About the only way to tell is to look at the number of "new" posts and compare it to the total number of posts for that thread to see if you have read it. That is not something that can be easily done by glancing at a page of thread subjects.

Front page looks great now. At first I was thrown off a bit by the fact that the Author font size is smaller than the Subject font size, but I adjusted quickly -- it's fine just the way it is.

Quoting font is too small.

Message post box font is still too big (not as bad as before, though) -- and I'm reading this on a 1680 x 1050 monitor set to 96 DPI. Apparently some folks on the forum need to visit an eye doctor.

And why so much white space between the last line of my post and the dividing line beneath which my sig sits? You could fit another entire line of text in that space, with room to spare.

Sig font is too small.

EDIT: Or not. Maybe I just need time to get used to it.

EDIT #2: That excess white space between my post and sig has to go, though.

Or maybe it's still the same size (comparing the images above).
Peter, you're aware that the text is too big for almost everyone but you?

I like the (static) bell icon for sticky threads. Thumbs up here.
