Its not the foiled terrorist plots that you should worry about, its the unfoiled terrorists plots that suck.

A friend of a friend (for what that is worth) is a Secret Service guy and says you would be shocked and amazed at the quantity and magnitude of the things that have been foiled, but never announced to the public.

Is it better to know this or not?

I am amazed and thankful we have not had any significant occurrences since 09/11/01.

Even all the Bush haters around this forum should acknowledge that.

JPK

Your friend is lying to you.
You have to be kidding. You basically agreed with him twice in this thread, and now you're going to disagree? Unless you're saying terrorists are running around all over the place, but either choose not to terrorize, or are too incompetent to accomplish even an attempted act of terror. kj.
What are you smoking? I started the thread, and that was my first response.

Besides, your friend lied to you.

Just to be clear, I don't have anything more to contribute on the earlier topic because I don't have anything more to contribute. It seems that kj and I hold opposing views, and trying to convince the other person didn't work. So, there you go.

What is wrong with you people? You always go on about how G W Bush is saving us from terror, when he was the one who was supposed to be on duty when 9/11 happened in the first place.

Oh Clinton was a great one to protect us from the terrorists... First Trade Center Bombing, attack on the Cole, Nigerian Embassy bombing were all on his watch.

Under Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history.

Wait, so Bush knew about those attacks and and 9/11 still happened? Wow, talk about sleeping at the wheel.

"Under Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history."

Got a link to that factoid? Or is that just your personal opinion?

You want a link to to the fact? I posted a direct quote.

Here you go:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/bc42.html

Here are some key points:

- the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history
- the lowest unemployment rate in modern times
- the lowest inflation in 30 years
- the highest home ownership in the country's history
- dropping crime rates in many places
- reduced welfare rolls
- proposed the first balanced budget in decades
- achieved a budget surplus

Hurts doesn't it?

If it is so cut and dry why doesn't every president just follow Clinton's economic "doctrine"? We will have guaranteed growth forever. It would be like outlawing recessions. What a great idea!

Do you remember the dates of any of those attacks? Do you remember the date of 9/11?

Because some are more interested in fueling their own accumulation of wealth and those of their rich friends.

Due to the "good economy rock", don't forget. There's no more proof those things were due to clinton than there is the lack of terrorism is due to Bush. You can't have it both ways. kj.
