What is the point of basing the store's likely success on 5 sales to their staff?

I wonder if that's the point.

It might be a test of their ability to process a sale, not the ability to make a make a sale, since they're obviously only to sell them to employees.

I'm curious as to *why* they want them sold in the pilot only, to employees only, and not let them be sold to OTC customers.

The are trying to prevent a mad rush of people breaking down the doors and trampling employees just to save $2 off the price of buying it directly from Apple or ATT.
