Chicago-Live theater options for family?
#1
Hi! My father lives in Michigan and we are headed for a visit. On the way back to Iowa we plan to stop in Chicago. Are there any live theater options that would still have tickets available and would be appropriate for a family (2 adults and kids-16 years old and 11 years old)? I did spend some time searching with Google and did not found anything. I guess my search skills are lacking. Any theater options for early August?
Thanks!
Dave

What? This one doesn't appeal to you as family entertainment?!

This is where I found it listed, but you've probably already checked out the link.

I'd guess Jersey Boys would probably be your best bet.

AlphaDog-thanks for your post! LOL! No, I didn't think the Blagojevich production would be a good fit for the kids. I did spend some time searching the theatreinchicago link and didn't yet find any shows that would be available the first week in August and that I felt were family shows. I do appreciate your input!

Black-thanks for your post! I did find the Jersey Boys listing. In reading one summary it mentioned strong ("profane" ) language. Our 11 year old hasn't had an insulated life, but I am not sure I'd want to take him to a show where the language was a big issue. Thanks for your help!

Good call, Jerry-- forgot about that.
Also, the neighborhood around there is a little more interesting than downtown, where most other productions are likely to be.

Also, consider Too Much Light makes the Baby Go Blind-- trés popular with the high school set-- I've been twice, I think:

Mary Poppins should still be there - it took over after Wicked left.

My company took a group there and everyone loves it.
