Psoriasis isn't really solely about "dry skin" - as Alpha Dog mentioned it is an auto immune disease.
The skin cells are actually reproducing at an accelerated rate and then shedding and that creates
the patchy skin areas. It is also directly effected by stress levels and general all over immune system health.
Some people have good results with the topical steroid creams and when it comes to shampoo,
Nizoral works pretty well. It is now available over the counter but you need a script to
get the higher powered version.
There is also the additional side effect of Psoriatic arthritis just to add a little fun to the mix.
