I think it's neat. Sure, they got the details wrong, but it's a first step. When people use it & provide feedback, they'll refine it.
Both home and automobile design is way behind in integrating pets. In the last twenty years, Americans have made a tremendous shift to keeping dogs and cats inside the house. But we still struggle with where to provide food and fresh water and where to put the litter box and how to bathe them. Look at all the flimsy add-on contraptions just to let dogs go outside to crap!
Then in the last ten years, we've started taking our pets with us when we go out. Now that our dogs are clean and groomed, why not? People buy all sorts of aftermarket accessories so they can take Fido in the car. Honda's smart to offer a package like this.
