WHEN to buy running shoes
#6
If you are a serious runner, you do care about the shoes you wear. Could mean the difference between running comfortably and not running due to pain. Yes, there are "new" models every year and frankly speaking, what the heck is wrong with their ad agency laughing all the way to the bank (along with their client)?

They provide a service and presumably they help move the shoes, so what is wrong with contributing to our economy? Ever hear the line Just Do It? Someone at an agency wrote it and made Nike probably billions of dollars. Problem with capitalism? It's how we all get paid, my friends. I don't work at an ad agency but I am a commercial writer so now you've gotten me all worked up here, Davester! Wink

For new models, I'd guess spring or fall, probably fall. Occasionally a maker will come out with an entirely revamped version of a certain model wherein the whole shoe goes through a fairly serious change (sometimes not for the better); but they do often make incremental improvements in shoes with better padding/collars, etc. I wear a certain brand and model of shoe because it lets me run comfortably on these old soccer-lovin' legs. When it's time to buy a new pair, I'll just google the shoe and order the previous year's model from a closeout vendor usually at about $40 off retail. 6pm.com is a good place to check for discontinued models.
