Apple Just Isn't What It Used To Be

All companies have products that fail. Period. Obviously, Apple is no exception. The price Apple charges for its products really has little bearing on reliability, as mot components are purchased, and the "Apple factory" just assembles them. There are a large number of companies making the components, all of which have varying levels of quality control. Apple has done a better job than most making sure that quality level is acceptable.

I think the core of your post reflects that you are upset because it happened to you. Do you get as concerned when it happens to others? Did you post here about that?

I have purchased 5 Macs. The first two were used. No problems with them. The last three were new, and each had warranty-covered problems. I'm not happy about that, but it in no way bothered me enough to make a post on it. I've had worse experiences and better experiences with other products, other brands. It happens. It is not a trend (that quality is slipping).

You read more about Apple products failing partly because of new customers' expectations not being met, and that Apple's products are now more common-place. New Apple customers sometimes buy because of an unreasonable expectation that Apple makes a perfect product every time. It's a pipe dream. Get over it.
