just what an abusive manager would say!

That alone is not abusive. Not even close.

*sigh* Why not just get another job? If you don't like your job, get a different one. If you're incapable of getting another job, then be glad you've got one.

Obviously more details on the situation would help, but that's pretty much my take for most jobs - especially retail. It's in a shopping mall. Go down the walkway and get a job at Starbucks, JC Penny's, the other Starbucks, Sears, the other Starbucks...
Because sometimes (yes, even in retail... the Rodney Dangerfield of professions) you love your job but can't stand the person who is your boss for perfectly legitimate reasons.
So get a job at another Apple Store location? There's another one about 15 minutes away. Or find another job that you'll love and stand the management. If this was some sort of skilled labor or isolated area where such jobs were scarce, I'd understand.

Oh yeah, 'cause jobs are so easy to come by in 2009! And money to pay bills, so easy to come by! ... isn't that right, M A V I C? Just walk into any retail store on the square, all those Starbucks and Bed Bath and Beyond minimum wage jobs, they just can't keep up with demand for fresh employees! Retail slaves quit cryin' and just go fill out an application across the street, they're all hiring! Right? *sigh* *wheeze* "hey you caroling Apple Store whipper snappers, get off my lawn! *cough* *sigh*

There's tons of retail jobs available in the area right now. Most retail stores have fairly high turnover so if there's not a job available, there will be one before long.

One local company just hired about 1000 employees for largely entry level employees. Most people I know in that area that are looking for entry level jobs are getting to choose between which job offers they want.
